With Christmas just around the corner, even the Queen is cashing in with a new range of festive goodies in her Buckingham Palace shop. Ranging from the eye-wateringly expensive – anyone for a £1,500 limited edition carriage clock? – to a remarkably popular £7.95 Buckingham Palace shower cap there is, as they say, something for everyone. Although whether they are all suitably regal is open to debate. At the cheaper end of the scale is a charming £8.95 fold-out advent calendar featuring the Queen’s London residence, depicting comical corgis biting the ankles of put-upon footmen and Father Christmas on the snowy roof.
