Prince William wraps his arm around a young cancer patient after arriving at the Royal Marsden Hospital with his bride.
He became president of the Royal Marsden in May 2007 – a role held by his mother Diana for several years before her death.
William's late mother Diana was a huge supporter of the hospital; she auctioned off 79 dresses – at son's suggestion – helping raise funds for the Marsden weeks before her passing in 1997.
And a decade later, the hospital was one of the charities to benefit from Concert for Diana, a celebratory event staged by her boys.

The Royal Shopper: Kate Middleton Spends on £100 Shopping in Topshop
The Duchess of Cambridge – who was spotted in a Topshop dress a few years ago (pictured) – reportedly browsed the store's High Street Kensington branch this past week.
The charismatic brunette spent just over £100 after waiting patiently in line just before the store closed.
Amongst her purchases were said to be a teal polka-dot skirt and a colbalt-blue jacket with velvet trim (also pictured).
Kate also picked out a tiny pair of gold-effect leaf earrings that cost less than £10.
"She was low-key and casual – she seemed so normal," recalled the Topshop staff member who served her.

Pippa and Kate Middleton Attended Common Friends' Marriage in a Different Style
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 29, joined sister Pippa, 28, for the nuptials of friends Thomas Sutton and Harriet Colthurst.

While Pippa walked into the Italian-style church in Wilton, Wiltshire, with long-term boyfriend Alex Loudon, Kate was without her husband Prince William. Arriving with a group of close friends including Tom van Straubenzee and James Meade, the prince, 29, had already taken up his position inside as an usher. (Earlier, he and his mates had tucked into lunch at a local pub.)
Eyewitness Mark Stewart says Kate was "dressed to impress" in a bold red Collette Dinnigan lace dress. She was accompanied by pal Louise Aubrey-Fletcher, whose wedding she attended in January. Pippa, meanwhile, wore a dress by Project D (Dannii Minogue's line) and a patent leather headpiece from milliner Gina Foster.
After the service, William and Kate tried to stay out of the limelight, so as not to deflect attention from the bride on her big day. While Pippa and Alex joined the throng in waving off the happy couple, the royals left the church from the rear of the building, quietly getting into his Audi and driving off to the reception at the home of the bride's parents.

The Duchess was accompanied by her friend Louise Aubrey-Fletcher. Prince William had arrived earlier to fulfil his duties as an usher at the wedding of their friends Thomas Sutton and Harriet Colthurst at St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Wilton, Wiltshire.
An onlooker said: ‘There were some photographers at the entrance and William kept his head down and headed straight into the church. Kate just about managed a smile.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were guests of honour at the wedding of two of their closest friends yesterday – but it was Kate’s sister Pippa who was the talk of the society event.
Pippa, who was attending her sixth wedding of the year, beamed as she walked into the church with boyfriend Alex Loudon, a former England cricketer turned City banker.
And friends close to the couple have indicated that their romance is so serious that Pippa may well be the next Middleton sibling to walk down the aisle.

My Grandma is Incredible: William Talks About the Queen
For the past two years, the Mail’s Robert Hardman (pictured right) has been granted privileged access to the world of the Queen.
The result, in his magisterial new book Our Queen, which we serialise exclusively today and next week, is the most in-depth and revealing royal portrait in years.
In part one of this unmissable series, Prince William talks intimately and at length, for the first time, about his remarkable grandmother.
The Queen is always available to him for advice. ‘There’s no question you can ask, and no point you can raise, that she won’t already know about — and have a better opinion about,’ he says.
‘She’s very up for that sort of thing. And for me particularly, being the young bloke coming through, being able to talk to my grandmother, ask her questions and know that there’s sound advice coming back is very reassuring.’

Kate Middleton Won't Be Taking Solo Royal Duties Until 2012 | Musicrooms.net
Duchess Kate – who wed Prince William in April this year – will not fulfil any solo engagements until at least next year as she adjusts to life within the royal family.
She will instead support her husband as he continues his training as a Royal Air Force search and rescue helicopter pilot in Anglesey, Wales.
She will also attend certain public occasions with William, such as appearing at the Cenotaph for the first time on Remembrance Sunday, on November 11. William and Kate are, however, set to spend less time in the public eye over the next year as they step back to allow the focus to be on Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, marking 60 years of her reign.

Prince Harry Turns 27. Happy Birthday Harry
The Windsor family jester will always, as he puts it, have a "childish streak".
But at the age of 27, he is also a principal public player, and has earned a reputation as a serious individual capable of valuable service to his country.
While the members of the monarchy are privy to a level of wealth and influence that most people can only dream of, they are also precluded from experiencing a normal life.
Prince Harry has somehow found a way to negotiate the pitfalls of his birthright, allowing his true spirit to shine through.

Camilla Visits Walworth Garden Farm in Southwark
Walworth Garden Farm in Southwark was established by local residents in 1987 on semi-derelict land.
At the urban farm, the Duchess was taken on a tour of its wildlife garden, cuttings shed, small pear orchard, bee-keeping plot and vegetable patch.
At one point one of the volunteers apologised as he offered a muddy hand to Camilla, but she appeared unconcerned and said: 'Don't worry about that, I'm used to it. I'm a gardener.'
Camilla showed that she was happy to get stuck in and armed with a pair of shears, helped to harvest lavender flowers on a roundabout.
